Fairfax shuts down BRW in print

Fairfax will cease the print edition of BRW magazine from December, according to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald.

The Fairfax publication said group director of business media Sean Aylmer informed BRW staff at midday of the shutdown.

BRW content will be offered for free online despite shifting to a paywall strategy for Fairfax's SMH and The Age online properties earlier this year.

Last week, Fairfax announced 45 redundancies in its business media and lifestyle units, including staff across BRW and The Australian Financial Review, plus the closure of the (sydney) Magazine and (melbourne) Magazine.
