CUB media pitch remains three horse race

The fight for Carlton United Brewers' media business remains a three-way scrap, AdNews understands.

MEC exited the process last month. AdNews reported at the time that the pitch was down to two, with Carat out, but that report was inaccurate.

CUB would not comment on the timings or the selection process, although it is likely to be settled by the middle of the month. CUB said in July that the process would take around three months.

The remaining agencies bidding for the business are incumbent MediaCom, plus Carat and PHD.

CUB spent $18.4 million on main media in the 12 months to July, down from $20.5 million in the prior corresponding period, according to Nielsen.

Last week Carat picked up another Melbourne-based account, taking the L'Oreal business from UM. A one year contract was awarded.
