Carat opens Perth shop

Aegis has opened up a Carat shop in Perth. The new arm will take some staff and clients from sister agency Mitchell & Partners and be overseen by managing director Alan Matthews.

Carat's march into WA market bolsters its regional presence and follows the launch of Vizeum into Perth.

Carat has billings in excess of $1 billion a year and employs over 300 staff. It will be overseen by Mitchells & Partners' Perth managing director Alan Matthews, who will oversee the two agencies.

It will take some clients and staff from Mitchell & Partners' Perth agency. While the agency was not able to comment on the exact figure, it told AdNews Mitchells Perth would remain with about 20 clients and $15 million in billings.

Aegis Media Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) chief executive Luke Littlefield said the expansion was a testament to the momentum Carat had already built in the WA market. "Our clients and people will benefit from this move and we look forward to the opportunities it will bring.”

Alan Matthews said the move gave clients "access to a global network with proprietary planning and research tools that will enhance the way we do business. This is an exciting move for us.”
