Burnette to become Seven West Media chief revenue officer?

Kurt Burnette could become chief revenue officer at Seven West Media with Nick Chan as chief operating officer. The moves are part of a broad restructure that would see Burnette taking on a role that goes beyond TV.

The structural changes at Kerry Stokes' outfit have been well trailed. The chairman was cryptic about which executives might take the top jobs back in May. Tim Worner, elevated to the top job that same day, has since flagged that the company is gearing up for structural change.

Burnette was widely tipped to become the next network boss, and many media commentators thought that had been rubber-stamped when he was sent to complete a 'super MBA' at Stanford a couple of months ago. But it would appear that his remit will go beyond TV.

Last month Burnette told AdNews that the “divisional structure question … will be answered in the next few weeks.”

Many in the media industry had expected to see details of the new model by now. It is thought that the process may be expedited following the news that current COO Rohan Lund is to the leave the company. Lund told AdNews that he wanted to “make sure some of the key transformation programs remain on track then I’ll transition out of the business”.

Speculation surfaced last week that Pacific Magazines boss Nick Chan will become chief operating officer. Seven told the AFR that it did not comment on speculation, and gave AdNews the same response when asked whether Burnette would become chief revenue officer across the group.
