BMW reviews creative with Ogilvy set to defend account

Ogilvy is to defend one its major pieces of business after BMW put its creative account up for review. The agency has looked after the car maker for some 15 years.

The automaker said both BMW and Mini brands are part of the scope, with Ogilvy set to participate in a closed door pitch against a number of competitors. GPY&R and M&C Saatchi were in the mix last time around.

The review will be complete before the end of the year, said brand communications and marketing services manager for BMW Australia, Stuart Jaffray.

“We review our agency relationships periodically and this is standard operating procedure,” he said.

The account was last reviewed in 2009.

Ogilvy will at least be able to focus fully on retaining the business after announcing it would not contest the Vodafone account, which is now also in play.
