Australians sweep IAB MIXX Awards

Australian agencies have scored eight Golds at the IAB MIXX Awards, including Leo Burnett Sydney which took out Best in Show for its Coca-Cola 'Small World Machines' work.

Leo Burnett Sydney, along with its Chicago office, also won Gold in the Digital Out-of-Home and Special Innovation categories.

The IAB Australia Best in Show award winner, Defence Force Recruiting 'Mobile Medic' by George Patterson Y&R Melbourne and VML, won Gold in the Mobile Advertising and Branded Mobile Application categories.

The IAB Creative Showcase winner, Save our Sons & Duchenne Foundation 'The Most Powerful Arm' by Reactive with Finch, Havas and Red Agency, took out a Gold in the Direct Response and Lead Generation category.

McKinney chairman and chief executive, and founding chairman of the IAB Agency Advisory Board, Brad Brinegar said: “In the unparalleled Oscars of digital advertising, the IAB MIXX award medalists surprised, delighted, wowed, and endlessly engaged us across multiple platforms, screens, devices and styles this year.

“From advertising for Coca-Cola to eBay and BMW to HBO's Game of Thrones, I and all judges were enthralled  and impressed by the energy and potential of the creative engines throughout our industry.”

The award ceremony was held at the Crowne Plaza in New York City at the conclusion of the IAB MIXX Conference and Expo. Comedian John Hodgman was the presenter.
