Southern Cross Austereo Melbourne general manager Ben Amarfio will leave the role after almost five years with the radio network, joining Cricket Australia as its new head of marketing.

Amarfio will take the reins as general manager of marketing, digital and communication at Cricket Australia next month.

During his long-term stint at the radio network, Amarfio was involved in multiple key projects including the relaunch of rock station Triple M and cementing its position as leading commercial football broadcaster.

Amarfio said in a statement: “SCA is a wonderful organisation, filled with the best and most talented media professionals in Australia. I am really very proud of what we have collectively achieved over the past 5+ years.  Moving forward, I know SCA will go on to even greater heights and I will remain a very passionate supporter of the business and all within it.”

His last day at Southern Cross Austereo will be 5 September 2012.
