Are you in the 40 under 40 class of 2012?

There are a few rules when it comes to compiling the 40 Under 40. To go through all of them here would be to swiftly rid ourselves of readers. So we won’t. But we will mention one rule which is particularly heartening for the industry. Once you have made it in the 40 Under 40, that’s it, you can’t be on the list again.

That means each year we are tasked with finding 40 new talents under the age of 40 who have impressed the industry so much that high-ups are willing to put their money where their mouth is and promote these young professionals to extremely important and taxing roles. There are always far too many entries to fit.

Out of the hundreds we received, the list was quickly filled by directors of departments, heads of marketing, publishers and even chief executives. While it can be a challenge for us to sift through all the entries and select the best of the best, the great news is that the Australian industry is overflowing with young and talented advertising, marketing and media professionals. All of them are truly world-class.

With the number of entries we received, there will be some very young and talented people left out. While that’s a great shame, there is a positive – next year is a new year and we would encourage those that didn’t make it through to enter again in 2013.

Australia boasts a truly dynamic advertising, marketing and media industry and the 40 people featured prove that. For our part, we will be striving to continue to produce the best industry magazine for them and the people who work for and around them.

Here's a teaser of the honourees in this year's 40 under 40 feature. Listed below are the companies they work for. Grab today's AdNews in print or on iPad to find out who they are.
