EXCLUSIVE: Insurance brand Allianz has placed its creative account in review, putting incumbent independent agency MercerBell on alert.

An Allianz spokesperson confirmed the move to AdNews, and said the review includes “the whole range of creative services and mediums”.

“We do reviews from time to time, in line with our head office arrangements,” the spokesperson added. “We’re not conducting an open pitch as such.”

Although traditionally perceived to be a direct marketing agency, MercerBell has produced above-the-line campaigns for Allianz.

The agency’s most ambitious ad campaign for the brand, which was created in conjunction with then-media agency OMD, involved an outdoor blitz, with a roadblock across six car parks in Sydney and Melbourne.
