Adland's world cup tomorrow: Which agency or publisher will be Brazil?

UN LTD World Cup

The UN LTD world cup is back with teams from major publishers, search, agency groups and trading desks tomorrow going head to head on the pitch aiming to be the Germany of media rather than Brazil. Or England. Or Australia.

The AppNexus stadium, AKA the King George V Recreation Centre in the Rocks, will be Sydney's answer to the Maracana for one day only. If it's anything like last year's showdown, where Mi9 honcho Marc Barnett blasted home the winning penalty after a last minute equaliser, there will be no love lost between sales teams, no tackles shirked, no mercy. But it's all for a good cause, with the teams raising tens of thousands of dollars for UN LTD beneficiary KidsXpress.

There will also be a celebrity game, after which media teams can tell their colleagues that, if nothing else, they gave Timomatic a “reducer”.

The event kicks off at early with the celebrity match around 3.30pm and the final around 4pm. Whatever the outcome, there will be free booze, win or lose, for everyone in the media industry afterwards at the Australia Hotel from 5pm.
