Consumer confidence jumps
SYDNEY: Australians have increased confidence about both their personal financial position and that of the national economy compared to this time last year, according to the latest Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence Rating. The rating jumped 2.1 points in a week to 127.5 points, 30.3pts higher than for the same week one year ago. Thirty percent of Australians say their family is "better off financially" compared to a year ago while 29% of Australians say their family is "worse off financially." In the long-term, 49% expect Australia to have "good times" economically over the next five years compared to 10% of Australians that expect "bad times" economically.
Guvera appoints head of sales
SYDNEY: Sponsor-funded content download site Guvera Australia has appointed Jon Rogin as head of sales. Prior to joining Guvera, Rogin was national sales manager for MySpace Australia following a role as senior territory manager for MySpace US. Guvera is currently in beta testing phase and has secured international and national brands including McDonald's, Mountain Dew, Johnson & Johnson, Bacardi, Harley-Davidson, Activision and Village Roadshow. Users provide their own detailed consumer profile in exchange for access to free content and proprietary software is used to match consumers with relevant brands. Guvera will officially launch in Australia on March 30.
